Giving you hope to get wherever you want to be
Change is always within reach, even when life or your relationships feel stuck or overwhelming. Your starting point doesn't determine your destination - real growth comes from awareness, intentional steps, and the choices you make along the way. Lasting change often begins small, with one habit or mindset shift that gradually transforms the way you live and relate.
Empowerment comes from recognizing that small, consistent changes in communication, boundaries, and understanding can create meaningful shifts over time.
The basis of therapy is hope. It's working on self reflection and self understanding to explore the root issues causing patterns in your life that you aren't benefitting from. By working through crap from the past, you can live a life full of hope, purpose, and meaning. Where you're at isn't where you have to stay. People can definitely change, and there's a lot that's within your control. You can learn to be better, do better, and change your own life.
I am here for that journey. If you need hope in a better you, I invite you to come explore and grow with me towards who you want to be.
What inspires me
The cards you've been dealt are not the ones you have to live out.
I find joy in the little things in life such as spontaneous trips for ice cream, singing to music in the car, laughing until I cry, random kisses, and having a picnic in front of the fireplace.
I believe that being able to find joy in the small, everyday events of life is a super power I've gained from growing up on a farm and multiple seasons of life where free activities were all I could afford. I've found that if I can find laughter, connection and fun in the mundane parts of life, I can find joy and hope everywhere. As you explore, I'm excited to see what super powers you've learned through your struggles.
My Training
I have a Masters of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University where I was clinically trained to work with relational systems. I am a Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP) as well as a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT) in the states of Washington and Kansas.
What inspires me
I'm inspired by the work of brilliant people who have come before me: Dr. Sue Johnson with Emotion Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), John Gottman working with couples on making marriages last, John Bowlby with Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, Brene Brown's work around shame and the power of vulnerability, and Simon Sinek on service leadership.
Start right where you're at, because that's the perfect place to begin. Whether it's reaching out to schedule therapy with me (if living in the state of Washington), working at your own pace with a self guided course or practicing new techniques while listening to the podcast, you CAN create change!
